You are invited to attend this exciting weekend contra dance camp, November 7-9, 2008, at Sky Camp near Eugene, OR. Camp will start Friday evening with registration and a contradance, followed by workshops and more dances the entire weekend. Wild Asparagus, from New England, is one of the country’s pre-eminent contra dance bands, known for their colorful, dynamic, rhythmic dance music with many stylistic influences. George Marshall is known for his warm personality and clear teaching and calling. The 5 piece Too Loose Cajun Band has delighted Portland area dancers with their spirited offerings of Cajun, Zydeco, and Honky Tonk Blues. Marc Green and Mary Mcleod return by popular demand, and under their capable instruction, we’ll all be stepping to those hot Cajun and Zydeco tunes. Annie Johnston will prepare fresh and delectable meals from Friday night snack to Sunday lunch. **We will start accepting registrations postmarked Mon, Sept. 15. Applications postmarked from Sept 15th through 22nd will be placed together in one lottery to fill camp** and determine positions on a waiting list. Camp will be gender balanced. Applications postmarked prior to September 15, 2008 will not be accepted.

Cost

For applications postmarked Sept. 15-30th: Adults and children over 10yrs, $170; children 2-10yrs, $90 For applications postmarked after Sept. 30th: Adults and children over 10yrs, $180; children 2-10yrs, $95 Children under 2 (must be registered). . . .free A few $55 scholarships are available for staff assistants to make coffee/tea and help the kitchen crew. We encourage dancers to ask about scholarships available from their local dance communities.
